Common questions about Brick Discovery. If yours isn't here, email contact@brickbudget.com.
What is Brick Discovery?
A free directory of third-party LEGO-related tools, apps, channels, and communities for adult fans of LEGO. Each listing has a category, pricing, platform, and a short write-up so you can tell what a tool does before you click through.
How do things get listed?
Someone submits a tool, or the weekly research pass surfaces one, and a human approves publication before it goes live. Editorial review can continue afterward. There's no automatic or paid path onto the site — every listing is a person's editorial call.
How often is the catalog updated?
The catalog is reviewed weekly. That run drafts additions and status changes, but nothing publishes automatically — a person reviews and saves each change before it goes live.
What does "abandoned" mean?
It's an editorial status, not an automatic flag: a YouTube channel with no upload in around a year, a podcast quiet for over a year, a blog with no post in about a year, a tool whose site is repeatedly unreachable or hasn't changed in a long time, or a GitHub repo that's archived with a dead site. A human confirms it before the label is applied.
It doesn't mean the tool is broken or won't work — just that active development or updates seem to have stopped.
Is a listing an endorsement? Is any of it paid?
No. Being listed on Brick Discovery isn't an endorsement, and a tool not being listed isn't a judgment against it either — it may just not have been submitted or reviewed yet.
Nothing on Brick Discovery is paid today — no sponsorships, no paid placement, no affiliate links. If that ever changes, any affiliate arrangement will be disclosed on the listing.
Is Brick Discovery affiliated with the LEGO Group?
No. Brick Discovery is an independent directory and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group.
How do I get a listing corrected or removed?
Email contact@brickbudget.com or use the contact page with the listing's page URL and what's wrong (or, for a removal, confirmation you represent the tool). A person reviews every request.
Is there an API or AI/MCP access?
Yes — a free, read-only JSON API and RSS feed over the catalog, plus an MCP endpoint for AI assistants. See the developers page for the JSON API and the MCP setup page for connecting an assistant directly.
