Overview
Minifigure Photos is a Flickr group founded on 28 January 2009. Its public pool asks contributors to make a minifigure or group of minifigures the focus of each image, providing a focused place to browse and share LEGO character photography.
Goals
- Share minifigure-focused photographs
Characteristics
Minifigure-first photography
The group description says a minifigure or group of minifigures should be the focus of each submitted image.
Scene-led photo archive
Visible pool titles and top tags show character scenes alongside LEGO, toy, legography, and custom photography.
Visual storytelling
The pool includes portraits, staged action, humour, and serialized scenes.
Pros
- Clear minifigure-first submission focus
- Large publicly visible photo pool
- Very large minifigure-centred image archive
- Broad range of portrait and narrative approaches
- Distinct from figure-customization communities
Cons
- Discussion activity shown on the page is old
- The minifigure-focus rule excludes broader LEGO photography
- Discussion board is dormant
- Broad acceptance can produce uneven photographic quality
- Vanity URL "legotrading" is misleading and weak for search recognition
